    Introduction of Li Shoubai  

     Li Shoubai (李守白) b. 1962, Shanghai Chinese contemporary artist, sculptor and paper cutting master. He began learning    painting from his father at the age of six and later continued his studies under renowned Chinese painter Lin Ximing(林曦明)    before attending and graduating from the Shanghai Art and Design Academy.

   Li Shoubai covers several positions on the main associations and organizations that promote fine and liberal arts in    Shanghai, among them: Committee Member CPPCC National Committee of Huangpu District, Executive member of     Shanghai Federation of Literature and Art Circle, Vice-Director of the Paper Cutting Committee of the Chinese Folk, Literature   & Art Association, Vice-Director of the Shanghai Folk, Literature & Art Association, and Representative leading figure for the Haipai Paper Cutting School of Art.    

Following his own motto “Innovation originates from self discovery”, he continues to experiment with new media and different styles, while at the same time devoting his career to the protection and preservation of Shanghai and China’s intangible cultural heritage. His artworks are part of national and international collections such as the Shanghai Museum of Fine Arts, Paper Cutting Museum of China, Lettera 27 Milan, Shanghai Grand Theatre Gallery, Licht Ins Dunkel Austrian Organization, and Sino-Dutch Friendship Association.
